‘EcoTas 2013’ brought hundreds of people from across the Australian and New Zealand ecological research communities together, giving them an opportunity to discuss the latest issues and advances in ecological science. TERN was well represented at the conference, with a number of presentations throughout the week describing advances in Australian ecosystem science enabled by TERN’s infrastructure.

Australia's Earth Observation Science capabilities: building and sustaining a critical resource

TERN Associate Science Director Stuart Phinn's plenary presentation at the XXII Congress of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing discusses the current extent of Australia's capabilities in earth observation data collection and applications, and outlines proposals for future national coordination programs that will enable a more coordinated, integrated and effective approach to developing infrastructure, sharing resources, and training/education.
